TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) govern the use of alexandertechnique.au (the “Site”). This Site is owned and operated by Michael & Jane Shellshear t/a Blue Mountains Alexander Technique ABN:879 187 049 70. This Site is an eLearning website.
By using this Site, you indicate that you have read and understand these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.

Quality of Training

Our eLearning Training is written to meet the Australian Society of Alexander Technique Teachers (AUSTAT) Training Standard. All course material has been written, compiled or supervised by an author holding dual Australian Quality Framework adult education qualifications and AUSTAT qualifications. The lead writer of course material, Michael Shellshear BA, Adv.DIp Alexander Technique, Adv Dip WHS,mAUSTAT, Dip VET, Dip Business, Dip Leadership and Management,TAE IVcert is an AUSTAT Approved Teacher Trainer. All efforts are made to ensure that eLearning material is correct, well presented and accurately described in all introductory or promotional material.

Registration and enrolment in our eLearning courses

Fees and charges

Our fees and charges are commensurate with the amount of professional experience, planning, design and time taken to provide a high quality training product. Fees cover enrolment into the course, access to eLearning material, handouts, submission of assessment material to a qualified instructor, feedback on assessment and attendance to one online training session. Payment of fees does not guarantee a pass or provision of certificate of achievement.

Enrolment is usually considered confirmed once payment is received . The site accepts payment through Stripe and/or Paypal services. Michael and Jane Shellshear and our employees or agents do not view, hold or maintain any credit card material from you. Should there be an issue with payment, a decline or other problem please contact Stripe or Paypal.

Once a person is registered they have unlimited access to the course material. However, an assessment may only be submitted once and attendance at online classes is limited to the number of sessions specified in the course (usually one complementary online class). Assessment in Blue Mountains Alexander Technique course is either Pass or Not Yet Pass. As our assessment is mainly formative, grades are not used at any time. When a student passes the eLearning course, a Certificate of Achievement is awarded.

Cooling-off period/refunds

Our courses are professionally written and involve study, research, active exercises and drills, assessment activities and attendance at some online classes. We recognise that some people may have second thoughts after commencing. Blue Mountains Alexander Technique provides a 5-day cooling off period from enrolment. If a student wishes to cancel before the end of the 5-day cooling period, Blue Mountains Alexander Technique will initiate a refund. refunds will be processed within 10 business days. Should you require a refund please contact us on info@alexandertechnique.au

After the 5-day cooling off period, we cannot offer any refund.

Nothing in this overrides your consumer rights under Australian law, if you believe that you have not received the course that was described to you.

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to our Site if we determine that you have violated these Terms and Conditions. Additionally, we may take any necessary legal action to prevent further misuse.

Accounts
When you create an account on our Site, you agree to the following:

  1. You are solely responsible for your account and the security and privacy of your account, including passwords or sensitive information attached to that account; and
  2. All personal information you provide to us through your account is up to date, accurate, and truthful and that you will update your personal information if it changes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are using our Site illegally or if you violate these Terms and Conditions.

Sale of Goods And Services
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of goods and services available on our Site.

The following goods are available on our Site:

  • Educational eLearning materials; and
  • Online zoom classes.

The following services are available on our Site:

  • Online instruction.

The services will be paid for in full when the services are ordered.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all the goods and services that are displayed on our Site at the time you access it. This includes all products listed as being out of stock. All information, descriptions, or images that we provide about our goods and services are as accurate as possible. However, we are not legally bound by such information, descriptions, or images as we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all goods and services we provide. You agree to purchase goods and services from our Site at your own risk.

We reserve the right to modify, reject or cancel your order whenever it becomes necessary. If we cancel your order and have already processed your payment, we will give you a refund equal to the amount you paid. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor your payment instrument to verify receipt of any refund.

Subscriptions
Your subscription automatically renews and you will be automatically billed until we receive notification that you want to cancel the subscription.

To cancel your subscription, please follow these steps: Cancellation on request. Refund provided if within 14 days of purchase.

Payments
We accept the following payment methods on our Site:

  • Credit Card; and
  • PayPal.

When you provide us with your payment information, you authorise our use of and access to the payment instrument you have chosen to use. By providing us with your payment information, you authorise us to charge the amount due to this payment instrument.

If we believe your payment has violated any law or these Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to cancel or reverse your transaction.

Refunds
Refunds for eLearning
Refund requests must be made within 7 days after registration.

Refunds for Services
All services sold on our Site are non-refundable.

Consumer Protection Law
Where the Australian Consumer Law, Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, or any other consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction applies and cannot be excluded, these Terms and Conditions will not limit your legal rights and remedies under that legislation. These Terms and Conditions will be read subject to the mandatory provisions of that legislation. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and that legislation, the mandatory provisions of the legislation will apply.

This coursework has been written and supervised by AUSTAT Approved AATT, Michael Shellshear AdvDip Alexander Technique Teaching, mAUSTAT. Michael is happy to sign off your logbooks when you demonstrate the required evidence and complete the course. Many trainee teachers are in a signed agreement with their AATT. It is important to consult with them on these matters. The eLearning may only provide a partial completion of topic. Many of the courses would need some Face to Face components to provide complete coverage of AUSTAT performance criteria.

Any one can enrol to complete as many courses as they want. There is no limit. If you plan to take multiple courses, we suggest that you attempt no more than two at any one time.

On each course page you will see an enrolment button at the right-hand side of the page. Click that button to enrol. Enrolment and registration unlock the course that you have chosen once payment is processed.
